"Shibou Yuugi de Meshi wo Kuu." is getting an anime adaptation.

The light novel "Shibou Yuugi de Meshi wo Kuu." has been announced to receive an anime adaptation through the live streaming event "MF Bunko J Natsu no Gakuensai 2024" (MF Bunko J Summer School Festival 2024). The PV announcement was also revealed and voiced by Rie Takahashi.

In response to the decision to make it into an anime, Ukai Yuushi and Necometal as the authors of this light novel gave comments.
Ukai Yuushi: "I still remember how anxious I was before the first volume of "Shibou Yuugi de Meshi wo Kuu." was published. I just couldn't imagine something I had been involved in being worth anything, or that people would actually pick it up. I was seriously worried that we wouldn't even sell a single copy. But I never imagined it would end up like this...! I was surprised when I first heard about it, but now I feel a deep sense of joy. Thank you all for your continued support."
Necometal: "Congratulations on the anime adaptation of "Shibou Yuugi de Meshi wo Kuu." I still vividly remember the shock I felt when I read the manuscript for the first time. "I love the worldview of Game of Death and it suits me well, so I am truly honored to have been able to do the illustrations. As the illustrator and first-time fan, I am very happy to have been given this opportunity. I am looking forward to seeing the death game of the ghosts depicted in the anime."

"Shibou Yuugi de Meshi wo Kuu." is a light novel published on November 25, 2022. "Yuki wakes up to find herself in an unfamiliar manor, wearing a maid uniform and lying on a luxurious bed. Soon, she discovers five more girls, all dressed the same as her. This is the Ghost House, and the only way they can survive is to make it through the traps that lie in wait-deadly games full of blowguns, buzz saws, locked rooms, and weapons. It's a hopeless, terrifying situation for everyone there...well, everyone except Yuki. After all, this is her career at seventeen. Do you think that's odd? She would agree. But that's how some people are-they earn their living playing death games.".
